1. Sloan Canyon Trail
“The mountains in the McCullough Range lie mostly above the city of Henderson in the U.S. state of Nevada,” Wikipedia. Bordering the south edge of Henderson is Sloan Canyon and McCullough Range. With nearly 50,000 acres Sloan Canyon embodies not only beautiful trails but also is easy access to the best hiking trails in the valley. The Archaeological District at Petroglyph Canyon is the most important Native American cultural site in Southern Nevada.
2. McCullough Hills Trail
“McCullough Hills Trail is a 16.1 mile heavily trafficked out and back trail located near Henderson, Nevada that offers scenic views and is rated as moderate. The trail offers a number of activity options and is best used from October until May. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.”
The north side of the mountain range includes the McCullough Hills Trail and is a part of the enchanting Sloan Canyon.
McCullough Hills Trail runs eight miles and connects the McCullough Hills on the east to Anthem Hills Park on the west. You can expect solitude of the gorgeous terrain and get a glimpse of wildlife. 3. Shaded Canyon Trailhead

Shaded Canyon embodies many of the same features as Sloan Canyon and is a great option to explore different looping trailheads.
4. Shadow Canyon Access Point
This trail is great if you are looking for a little less rugged but still enchanting beauty. The Shadow Canyon Trail offers a handful of paved parking and shaded seating areas to enjoy a mid stop bite to eat or to relax and take in the gorgeous scenery.
5. Hidden Falls Park Trailhead
Hidden Falls Trailhead offers all the amenities of a park including paved parking, bathrooms, and drinking fountains and shaded sitting areas. The gorgeous trailhead is also directly outside the Sloan Canyon with connecting trails and a similar landscape.
6. Black Mountain
At the peak of the volcanic origin Black Mountain trails feature unique lava cliffs on the east side of the mountain. Located on the south side of Henderson this trailhead features panoramic views of the Las Vegas Strip.
The Black Mountain gets its name from the black lava cliffs located on the east side. The views atop this historic volcanic range include Red Rocks, Spring Mountains, El Dorado, Jean Dry Lakes and many more.
