Concrete columns are now rising out of the median of Green Valley Parkway at Village Walk Drive. When they are finished, they will hold a pedestrian bridge linking the two sides of The District at Green Valley Ranch. That bridge will also carry the 215 Beltway Trail across the parkway, so walkers and cyclists no longer cross with car traffic. According to the Las Vegas Review-Journal's Road Warrior column, the bridge structure arrives in March and should be substantially complete around April 2027.
So the season running from Halloween to the tree lighting is the last one The District will host with that crossing at street level. The same goes for most of the area below MacDonald Highlands. The freeway lanes, the new interchange, the trail connection and the dining complex going up off St. Rose Parkway all finish next year or later. This fall still runs on the corridor's old layout, and the new places to eat sit just outside the work zone.
The Bridge Comes First, and the Parkway Pays for It
The bridge is the first of several Green Valley Parkway projects, and it opens the door to the rest. Crews are pouring the ramp walls now. Green Valley Parkway will have full directional closures overnight in March or April 2027, when the span is lifted into place. The project's spokesperson told the Review-Journal the team will give "as much notice as possible" and try not to hit "a busy weekend."
Next, the Green Valley Parkway overpass above the 215 becomes a diverging diamond interchange. Henderson has had one of these since 2015, at Horizon Drive and Horizon Ridge Parkway over Interstate 11. Work on the new one is set to start in April 2027, as the bridge wraps up. The project team expects a single lane in the overnight work areas and, at times, two lanes plus turn lanes during the day.
That puts this holiday season in a rare quiet window. No bridge is going up, interchange work has not started, and the Henderson 215 project has no planned closures of the 215 itself. What remains is intermittent ramp closures and nighttime lane work. For the weeks of Oct. 4 and Oct. 11, the October project update scheduled that work for 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.
The Calendar That Fits Inside the Window
Late October and November are packed. Here is what falls between publication day and Thanksgiving week.
- Thursday, Oct. 29, and Thursdays Nov. 5 to Nov. 19. The District Farmers Market runs 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The posted schedule stops at Nov. 19, so the Thursday before Thanksgiving is the last listed market.
- Friday, Oct. 23. Henderson's free Día de los Muertos: Celebration & Concert runs 5 to 9 p.m. at Nevada State University's James E. & Beverly Rodgers Student Center, 1300 Nevada State Drive. Las Cafeteras are among the performers, per the city's event listing.
- Saturday, Oct. 24. Green Valley Ranch Resort hosts Wine Under the Stars at 6 p.m. This is its second year. Las Vegas Weekly reports more than 40 wines, a specialty food menu and tickets starting at $150.
- Saturday, Oct. 31. Monster Mash on Main St. at The District runs 4 to 7 p.m. with trick-or-treating, entertainment, vendors and costume contests.
- Saturday, Nov. 7. Henderson's Heritage Harvest Festival runs 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 300 S. Racetrack Road. Activities are free, and a $5 wristband covers extra attractions.
- Sunday, Nov. 8. Market in the Alley returns to The District from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
- Saturdays, Nov. 14 and Nov. 28. Makers Hive Market sets up at The District from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- Saturday, Nov. 21. The District's Annual Tree Lighting runs 5 to 8 p.m. on Main Street, with snowfall, live holiday music, local artisans and Santa.
Trivia Tuesdays at The Oak Room also run through Dec. 29, for anyone looking for a regular weeknight plan.
When Each Fence Comes Down
The calendar is set through November, but the work zone around it runs on its own schedule. Here is when each piece is due to finish, with the source for each date.
| Project | Expected finish | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Added lane on the 215 off-ramps to Pecos/St. Rose, both directions | End of 2026 | Review-Journal, Oct. 5, 2026 |
| Upgraded 215 eastbound off-ramp to Green Valley Parkway | Substantially complete by end of 2026 | Review-Journal, Oct. 5, 2026 |
| Green Valley Parkway pedestrian bridge at The District | Around April 2027 | Review-Journal, Oct. 5, 2026 |
| Carnegie Street improvements, Green Valley Pkwy to Paseo Verde Pkwy | Q2 2027 | City of Henderson |
| Two added 215 lanes in each direction | Open by end of 2027 | Review-Journal, Oct. 5, 2026 |
| Full 215 widening project | March 2028 per the Review-Journal; mid-2028 per the city | Both |
The biggest change for walkers and cyclists is still in effect. The I-215 Trail is under a long-term closure from Valle Verde Drive to St. Rose Parkway, and another runs from Arroyo Grande Boulevard to Stephanie Street. Both detour to Paseo Verde Parkway. Anyone who rides the Beltway Trail toward Green Valley Ranch is using the surface-street route this season.
The City of Henderson's Carnegie Street project adds buffered bike lanes, repaving, a pedestrian-activated trail-crossing flasher and a new signal at Cozy Hill. It also finishes in 2027.
The Cliff Moved Its Opening Into 2027
The biggest new dining project in the corridor is also on next year's schedule. The Cliff is VAC Development's conversion of a two-building office complex on St. Rose Parkway, just south of the 215, into a retail and dining hub. Plans call for food and drink, live music, comedy and outdoor programming. The Review-Journal reported on Sept. 30, 2026, that construction had started. The new ownership closed on the 10-acre site Aug. 31 for $27.5 million, and an owner said the complex is 40 percent leased.
The timeline has shifted. In December 2025, the developers projected first openings by the end of 2026. A September 2026 financing release from Institutional Property Advisors now puts tenant turnover in the second quarter of 2027 and first openings in the second half of 2027.
The Cliff's own site lists these signed tenants:
- Arhaus and Visual Comfort for home furnishings and lighting
- BODYROK and Pvolve for fitness
- The Taco Stand, Lyte House, The Barista Botanist and Killer Whale Creamery for food and drink
Visual Comfort, BODYROK and Pvolve are new since the December announcement. If the 2027 schedule holds, ice cream from Killer Whale Creamery and tacos from The Taco Stand will arrive around the time the new 215 lanes open, not this holiday season.
Where the New Food Already Is
The new restaurants that are actually open this fall are mostly up the hill on Horizon Ridge Parkway, away from the bridge and freeway work.
Lester's Deli, the Montreal smoked-meat institution, opened its first U.S. location in August at 1590 W. Horizon Ridge Parkway, Suite 170. It is a daytime stop, open Tuesday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. A short distance along the same road, Hayworth runs an upscale steakhouse at 1450 W. Horizon Ridge Parkway, Suite C205, open Tuesday through Sunday from 4 to 9 p.m., according to Las Vegas Weekly. On Horizon Ridge, lunch and dinner are covered by two new openings without touching a 215 ramp.
Down at the resort, Green Valley Ranch's food court added Irv's Burgers this summer, at 2300 Paseo Verde Parkway. Its late hours are the main draw: 9 a.m. to midnight Sunday through Thursday and until 2 a.m. Friday and Saturday, per News 3. That means a burger after Wine Under the Stars or after the tree lighting.
Hank's Fine Steaks & Martinis is the one to watch. In April, the Review-Journal's Neon reported that the Green Valley Ranch steakhouse would be remodeled later in 2026, with normal service continuing until work begins and a temporary Hank's pop-up at the resort during construction. As of mid-October, the resort's homepage still listed the restaurant and promoted its Hank's Steak Series. A holiday reservation is worth confirming directly.
Shopping at The District is changing too. Its directory lists Club Champion as "Coming Soon."
On Nov. 21, the tree lighting fills Main Street from 5 to 8 p.m. If the April target holds, next year's lighting will have a bridge over Green Valley Parkway and a finished trail crossing between the two halves of The District.
The bridge, the interchange, the new 215 lanes and The Cliff are all scheduled to finish below MacDonald Highlands between spring 2027 and 2028.
