Summer here used to mean planning around what wasn't available. The 2026 calendar changes that math, because three separate things all landed inside the same ten-minute radius from the guardhouse at roughly the same time.
The thesis, in one paragraph
Ridges residents have always had Red Rock at the back door and Downtown Summerlin at the front. What's new is that the timed-entry system at Red Rock now flips into a resident-friendly mode on June 1, the Downtown Summerlin lawn programming has become a fixed weekly rhythm rather than a scattered set of events, and the food and retail additions on the eastern edge of the community finally close the after-dark gap that used to send people east on the 215. Put those three together and a summer week in The Ridges can be sequenced without a single reservation more than twenty minutes from home.
The reservation window at Red Rock closes on May 31. From June 1 through September 30, the Scenic Drive is walk-up. That single date is the hinge the rest of the week hangs on.
Sequencing the week
Here is the shape a summer week takes in 2026 if you already live inside the gates.
